how to run a coworking space
Hi, Macky here. Space Captain for Tayo. I’ve been meaning to create a blog for our website for quite some time now- for multiple reasons really.
First and foremost, I want the community we nurture here to know firsthand what we have in store in the future. From plans within every given month, to our bigger, 3 to 5 year plan. There’s a lot to go over, and we’ll go over all of these in due time.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing with you the many events we have planned, some of which have been personal goals of mine ever since I thought of opening Tayo nearly 2 years ago! I’ve been excited to execute these goals for quite some time now, and I hope you will be as excited as me when I get to share what these plans are.
Most importantly, this blog exists as my journal where I can type down not just my goals for Tayo, but the stress, anxiety, and fear it comes with as being the Space Captain. And what I mean by this is that running a coworking space was totally not what I thought I would be doing in life. I prepared my whole life thinking it’d go a certain way, but as l’ve come to realize as I’ve gotten older, life doesn’t always pan out the way you want it to. And that’s okay. Things happened here and there, and voila! Tayo was born. And while I don’t have much experience with running a coworking space, I do know I love hosting people and making sure they have a fun time (friends who regularly come over my house would hopefully be able to attest to this), and I hope I get to carry that over in some capacity here.
So, this blog is essentially my journal. My way of reflecting what I’ve learned as being Space Captain, and as a way to see how far I’ve come from when we first opened.
To the person reading this, thank you. Even just by reading this blog, it’s already giving me the reassurance that I’m doing something right. So for that, thank you.
The future of Tayo is bright; and while we’re still learning how to run a coworking space, we would love nothing more than to have you join us on this journey as we build Tayo.
